Noorderpoort launches data centre education: ‘growing demand for qualified staff’

The first eight IT students at Noorderpoort in Groningen recently embarked on the new elective course ‘Datacenter IT Technology’. Noorderpoort is the first ROC to offer this. The new elective course is a response to the increasing demand from data centres for well-qualified staff. “The data centre industry is booming, especially in Groningen.”
The elective course ‘Datacenter IT Technology’ is the result of a collaboration between industry association Dutch Data Center Association (DDA) and Noorderpoort. This collaboration has produced a curriculum that seamlessly meets the needs of industry: the data centres.
